Every Moment Counts

Hey there, I’m Adele, the craziness behind E.M.C. Photography.

I’m so happy you’ve landed here

(whether on purpose or an accidental click).

If you’re curious to know more about the gal behind the camera and how this journey unfolded, I’ve got a little backstory waiting for you. But if you’re ready to dive straight into the good stuff, you’re welcome to head right over to the website and explore.

Aw, you scrolled down… Thank you.

Thank you for wanting to hear more.

I ask so many questions when I first meet my clients. At least now you will know a little about who is invading your space.

Yup, that’s me at about 10 years old, and to be honest with you, I don’t remember where I was, but I do know we were on vacation because it was the only time I was allowed to carry my mom’s expensive camera.

I’d love to be that photographer who says, “I’ve been a photographer as long as I can remember“, but I can’t tell you that because it wouldn’t be true. I loved taking pictures when I was this age because my mom loved taking pictures on our summer vacations as a family. I remember feeling fancy and grown up. My mother was one of those mothers who took pictures of everything, and I mean EVERYTHING… as long as at least one family member was in it.

(Oh, the boxes of photos and the thumb drives that woman has of our family adventures)

I didn’t gain any true interest in photography until I was an adult. The closest I ever got was when I applied to work for the school newspaper/newsletter, and the only position available was the yearbook photographer; I turned it down.

This was the first wedding I ever photographed in 2014 and I gata say, I think I nailed it.. One of my long-time friends contacted me, only knowing I owned an EOS camera (at the time I photographed this wedding, I had an EOS Canon Rebel, which was released in 2003), and not knowing it was my first wedding. I was offered $300 and a free hotel suite in Palm Springs, CA.

In all honesty, I think this wedding changed everything for me. I learned so much from my first wedding. This wedding has hustle, mayhem, and so much love all smooshed into a multi-hour booking. It was like a telenovela with a Wedding as the finale.

I remember everyone gasping when the bride appeared to take her pause before walking down the aisle, the “Oos” and “Awe” coming from guests, and the tears flowing from mom and granny.

I do believe in that moment, I decided to make this my 24/7, 365, day/afternoon/night job…

One of the Most Important facts I have learned since my first wedding?

NO WEDDING IS 100% PERFECT.

I am so sorry if I broke your heart with this truth bomb.

HOWEVER!

You can get pretty close if you have a solid team of vendors, runners, and friends who are willing to be momentary ‘Karen’s” at times. (We got you)

Fun Fact Time:

Fun Fact #1:

My logo says EMC and is an Elephant at the same time. EMC = Every Moment Counts. I am obsessed with elephants, and my artistic friend drew me an amazing Elephant logo. I sent it off to be digitized, and it’s been my logo ever since.

Fun Fact #2:

I have been to 45 United States and 3 countries to photograph weddings. The magic isn’t in the places; it’s in the way a couple looks at each other during their vows, or how grandma squeezes your hand when she thinks no one is looking. Those are the moments I travel for.

Fun Fact #3:

Along with EMC Photography, I used to be the founder of EMC Modeling Agency in Yuma, AZ, from 2016 – 2022. This is why you will see some glamour photoshoots mentioned on my Instagram and even on my website.

Fun Fact #4:

I have photographed a total of 332 weddings and elopements (this does not include engagements). I still can’t wrap my head around the number.

Fun Fact #5:

I am someone who genuinely cares about the people I work with. I want you to feel like you’ve got a friend with a fancy camera. (just like my first wedding) I want you to know that I am the one who will fix your veil, make you laugh when the nerves creep in, teach you every step to several line dance wedding songs, and capture every beautiful, messy, honest moment so you can relive it all again and again.

Again, my name is Adele, & I welcome you to my beautiful world.

I’m already excited to meet.
